Peter Brook’s Tony Award winning adaptation of Bizet’s masterpiece includes the immortal melodies, but re-defines the tragedy of four people with visceral realism. Maestro Attanasi and Metropolitan Opera mezzo-soprano Robynne Redmon sizzle in this intimate chamber opera, the first at the magnificently restored landmark Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts. About Robynne Redmon

Robynne Redmon is a mezzo-soprano ideally suited to the bel canto repertoire. Her beautiful voice, intelligent musicianship, and spirited stage portrayals have led to success in theaters and leading orchestras around the world, from the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago and San Francisco Opera to La Scala, the Bavarian State Opera, and the Berlin State Opera. Her repertoire encompasses Adalgisa, Giovanna Seymour, Carmen, Azucena, Hatred in Gluck's Armide, and the title roles in La Favorita and The Rape of Lucretia. In 2003 she created the title role in the world premiere of Bright Sheng's Madame Mao with The Santa Fe Opera.
